As the name suggests, urban hens is a company whose aim is to supply you everything you need to keep hens in your own garden. Hens are a great addition to any garden, giving you the chance to live off the land! There really is no better taste than that of a fresh egg, straight from your own hens and the feeling of collecting your own eggs is something special.
Keeping hens is relatively straight forward and takes little effort in upkeep, all of which is available on the 'keeping hens' page. In addition, when you order from urban hens, you will receive training in all the basics from the delivery person. Our starter set consists of a traditional ark style chicken house and 2 hens, together with feeder, drinker, feed and bedding. In fact everything you need to start off, plus we'll throw in a bag of mixed corn which you can give as a treat. The ark is simply moved around the garden to give your hens fresh pasture. If you want to start off with three hens, we have an 'upgraded starter set', which is a rectangular chicken coop with run. This is again moved around regularly to give your hens fresh pasture.
Alternatively, you could opt to build a dedicated enclosure for your hens and coop. We can supply and build if you wish, an enclosure made up of standard panels, so you choose where your hens are situated and we can do the rest. For advice and help, please contact us.
